A thermal tradition dating from 1750
The waters of Carapacho have been known since 1750 for their thermal properties. The site is in Luz, on the south-eastern coast of Graciosa. The thermal experience should not be confused with the nearby natural pools: they are different uses of the same coastal area.
This is a place for visitors who want to include thermal care or relaxation in their stay, rather than simply looking for a sea swim. Official sources describe the waters as natural thermal waters rich in mineral salts; published temperatures are around 35-40 °C depending on the source consulted.
Termas do Carapacho combines a long thermal tradition with a coastal setting on Graciosa, close to the Carapacho natural pools.
