Understanding Graciosa

Understanding Graciosa

Graciosa has a gentler profile than the islands dominated by high peaks, but its volcanic story is concentrated around the Caldeira and Furna do Enxofre. The coast adds another side of the island through Carapacho, bathing areas and small rural landscapes.

A programme built around viewpoints depends on visibility, while coastal activities also depend on wind and sea conditions. When those conditions are less favourable, Graciosa still offers a slower rhythm through Santa Cruz, the Caldeira and its volcanic heritage.
