The story, identity and character of the place
Horta Marina occupies the city bay and is one of Faial’s most recognisable places. The Azores tourism service describes it as a major stop for recreational sailors and international regattas. Its most distinctive feature is the collection of paintings left by visiting sailors on the marina walls and quay.
The facility provides services including reception, fuel, toilets, showers, laundry and technical support. The marina combines naturally with a walk through Horta and Porto Pim, even if you are not sailing. The marina keeps Horta’s maritime identity visible in the everyday landscape of the city.
